■Here are some basic points to jot down for Hanami:
1) Although it’s common to see people eating and drinking for Hanami, some areas are prohibited so I would advise you to check in advance.
2) There are a lot of people wanting space, so if you occupy an area, do not use more surface than needed.
3) Do not climb the cherry blossom trees or break their branches.
4) This could be common sense but do not get extremely drunk - it’s easy to get carried away because people tend to bring a lot of alcohol.
5) Finally, do not leave any garbage behind. The designated disposal area gets full really quickly and you may not be able to find another garbage bin nearby. Make sure to prepare some plastic bags beforehand and take any trash home with you.
