【Art of Culture Program】A private program to learn the culture and art from experts
A private program in Kyoto to take your Japanese cultural experience a step further. This is a unique 10day program led by an expert to learn the one of a kind Japanese aesthetics.

Kyoto art of culture program
A program run by experts in various fields of culture and art will take place in Kyoto. achicochi LLC will provide several private and small-group courses in February 2020 to learn from entry-level skill to understanding the essence and core values of an expert.
① Japanese Cuisine Program
This course aims to learn the basic concepts of Japanese cuisine and to learn techniques that can be reproduced at home. The Lecture will place importance in not only the technical aspects but also on cultural wisdom; such as assortment of vessels and seasonality.
It will be held at “Jimi”, a meal space specializing in soup stock. This place was renovated from a 100-year-old Kyoto townhouse located just south of Toji.
② Japanese Pottery Program
The aim of this program is to learn the basic pottery making process.
【Instructor】Jun Kawajiri (Ceramic Artist)
Born in a family of pottery producer that has continued since the Edo period. After graduating from Tokyo University of the Arts, he completed master's and doctoral programs at the university's graduate school.
After working as a part-time lecturer at the university's design department, he pursues "the use of ceramics as an expression of contemporary art" at a pottery in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto. In addition to colorful and dynamic objects, he also creates new sensations. He has won numerous awards at nationally and abroad. He is also active in a wide range of writing activities such as the book “I love distortion(歪みを愛でる)” on Japanese aesthetics that are unique to ceramics, and teaching the theory and history of crafts at universities.
